American TV commentators from any sport simply repeat basic stats and anecdotes, thinking the audience has the mental capabilities of a 3 year old (now watching the Women's Euro, but really applies to every single sport)

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It ‘s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

Hard to believe that in today's NBA, with the best offense and defense ever, the product put on TV can be this bad. I want to believe the commentators know something about basketball, but they don't add any value. Explain what's going on! Stop the cheesy and stereotypical comments!
