What you need to know in order to understand David is that he is a grifter. He has made millions grifting as leftists populist and he is raging against people who may make it harder for him to grift.

I hate how everyone is so “two party system” brained that there is so little talk of promoting reforms such as proportional representation or rank choice voting and instead different parts of dem coalition is yelling at the other and demanding full submission.

I don’t know if any of these online “leftists” influencers are republican agents but if they were they wouldn’t be acting any different.

In a democratic republic, politicians obey court orders because they know that if they ignore them, their opponents might do the same when they come to power. The only explanation for what is happening now is that they are confident they will never lose power.

This is hardly “free” healthcare and it does come with longer wait times and as opposed to some on left believe there is some cost sharing.

In Germany, the max you pay with public healthcare is 614eur/mo or so, you pay half, your employer pays the other half (so, 307eur down your agreed pre-tax salary, but 614eur more on your total cost of hiring). It scales based on income, it's not hard to hit the max (I'm at the max).

This account made wild accusations against me and then shut down comments so I can’t respond. Like a true coward.

It’s simply not true that any care provided is life saving care. 1/3 of our healthcare being waste, it’s not hard to imagine large number of denials are for care that would have been unnecessary or wasteful.

So the dude was a right winger who liked Tucker but stupid leftist kids on social media lionized him for days. I bet all the normies will associate him with the left because of that.

It’s funny how everyone thinks of US as the quintessential capitalist country but most of our airports are publicly owned while some of the largest and busiest airports in Europe are privatized.

There is a lot of discussion on this website and others about health insurance. One common claim is that health insurance companies don’t pay claims. While there are denials, the reality is that they pay most claims, often at rates significantly higher than public programs.

There's a growing consensus that Democratic activists have become too focused on unpopular positions and lecturing people. But how did that happen?

They learned all the wrong lessons from the successful fight for gay marriage.

Lol I just found out Mark Cuban no longer follows me. Did I say something, or did he follow me by accident and then realize it and unfollow me? 🤣

The last two items are probably related
For a variety reasons, you might feel starved for good news. Well, in just the last 6 months, federal agencies have reported

- fentanyl deaths and overall drug overdose deaths declined
- homicide rates declined
- US longevity finally went up for the first time since the pandemic
- obesity declined

Apparently there is no typo in this post. 1 acre minimum lot size is insanity. It’s misanthropy turned into public policy.
Earlier this year Austin, Texas decreased the minimum lot size needed to build a home from 5,750sf to 1,800sf.

Over half of the communities in Greater Boston require 43,560sf+ minimum lot sizes on more than 50% of their total land area.

It’s interesting this is coming from Reason. This is clearly government enforcing a specific “right” that limits what business can do in the market. A great example of why purist libertarianism is not necessarily the best way to organize society.

I think one reason the other website is so god awful is because so many accounts intentionally post provocative crap. It’s all rage baiting to increase engagement. I really hope Bluesky doesn’t role out some sort of payments to “creators”.

Oh jeez this made my blood boil. Democrats are willing to let the planet burn instead of taking business away from their lawyer friends.

It’s hard to comprehend why some on far left have this level of hate towards YIMBYism. A movement that contains some of their preferred policies such as social housing or vouchers.
Me: I think it should be legal to build apartment buildings in the places people want to live 🙂

Some professor in Utah: this is an ostensibly pro-social excuse for eliminationist settler-colonialism directed at resources you want and the people who currently possess them 😤

I don’t like musk but this is a classic misinformation. CA has failed to lay down a single track despite spending close to 15 billion dollars. The project has been getting funding every year. Its failures does not have anything to do with musk.
We’ve had viable solutions for mobility both within & between cities for a long time, like high-speed rail, prioritized public transit and networks of protected bike-lanes. We need leadership. And we need to stop letting “shiny new tech” distract us from implementing them. Image via UrbanThoughts11

I support universal healthcare but this isn’t accurate. First of all a little less than half million/year declare bankruptcies in U.S. for any reason so I don’t know where they got the 643000. Out of those 2/3 have an unpaid medical bill although that may not have been the main cause of bankruptcy.
The number of people who go bankrupt every year because of medical bills.
