@eitmonline.bsky.social often bodybuilders will take potassium to further suck the water out of their bodies. It makes the muscles pop and the veins more prominent.

Beware of the dog??! 👀 🐾

Endearing Roman mosaic of a little black guard dog curled up asleep 💤 in the entrance passage of his family home in Pompeii.

I found this 1920s New Orleans Police uniform button in my backyard today. I was doing a mock shovel test and just shifting some dirt through a screen. #history #archaeology #neworleans #nopd #neworleanshistory

@eitmonline.bsky.social obviously this is just a Dewey decimal system code. Someone just wants a library book.

I miss the old dot matrix printers. Paper jam? Print over it. Ink? Maybe, 🤷🏻‍♂️ still printing. The machine printer didn’t care.

Looks like we can now also use the Waffle House Index to monitor bird flu. A little twist on using them to assess the severity of disaster impacts!

Let’s go inside Bryn Celli Ddu!

A remarkable Neolithic passage tomb built some 5,000 years ago to align with midsummer sunrise! 🌅

Look out for the stone pillar in the burial chamber. Pehaps a tomb guardian keeping watch from the shadows!

We all need a timeline cleanse right now, so let's start the day with this lovely jug with an octopus motif, dating ca 1200-1100 BC.

On display at National Museum Copenhagen.

A piece of New Orleans History
The original “Blue Books” were guides to any type of vice you’d like to experience in New Orleans.

This item is a bit more tame as morals had shifted in the 1950s

Too many people didn't appreciate just how wonderful, how glorious, it was that the daily news cycle during Biden's presidency was boring as fuck.

As former state-level emergency responder:

Every state would have to raise taxes considerably to cover services equal to a FEMA deployment.

One central group running regional teams that can deploy all over the country is just plain CHEAPER than a whole disaster team (or 2+) for every state.
