So that was Saturday June 28th 2025. Crikey. It was hot, it’s going to get hotter. Another day done, another (almost) here. So it goes. (Released this very month in 1991, a mere 34 years ago, Detective Comics #633, with its striking cover featuring The Batman by Michael Golden.)

And so to bed…

PERRAMUS
One of a few books I bought during my trip in Italy is the integral, complete PERRAMUS by Maestro Alberto Breccia and Juan Sasturian. This oversized hardcover is a tome of almost 500 pages collects in full some of Breccia’s most seminal works and it’s full of his breathtaking artwork.

tl;dr - as well as causing cognitive atrophy, "AI" has also led to a crisis of information quality. Simply put, data produced after 2022 has been contaminated with AI slop and can no longer be considered reliable.

When I think of unsung comic classics, my mind goes straight to THE WEIRD.

Primo Bronze Age DC, Jim Starlin styling on some stratospherically high concept urban sci-fi with pencils by Bernie -- get this -- Wrightson. This is a COMIC BOOK comic book. It's even got Guy Gardner.

RIP Peter David.
I'm probably not a comic book writer today without reading Peter David's X-Factor #87 when I was younger. It opened my eyes to superheroes in ways I hadn't really considered until that moment. Though I didn't know him, he left such a mark on my life and I'll always be grateful.
