I had no idea that accessibility is so far-reaching.
Many live with the limitations of not understanding numbers and the impact that has on everyday life. Laura Parker's Accessible Numbers project offers guidance on how to design services and write content for people who need help with numbers.

I say we give him a break. I would not have made nearly as elegant a mistake.
Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

I would have been hooked after this opening sentence!
‘Why can’t we get children to read the classics?’

The Classics: ‘Sit, friend, and let me take two chapters to narrate how we ended up sitting in armchairs by the fire, before I tell about a man I met on my travels who told me a story so startling I had to spend three months resting in Switzerland.’

We need more words like this, and more PAPER plane travel.
The beetles and roaches
that once crawled
on my prone body
are now liberated
from their march.
I have risen
from my death bed
of thorns.
Pale hands trace the outline
of old friends
and wave them goodbye.
I drink coffee
as I think of paper planes
with poems writ
on each one.

I’m not sharing this so much because it’s incredibly sad. It’s just that I have been near to tears all day and I thought, by writing a little, that I might draw a contrast between the loss of this one amazing woman and the daily devastation of the countless other women in Ukraine and Palestine.
The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada has learned this morning, Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, that Dr. Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, has passed away due to natural causes.

She was in California as part of her speaking tour in the United States.

I have nothing against cats. My issue is with how much you cat people need to talk about them 🙄 And for my fellow cat-unfollowers, you need to filter out both cat and cats. Maybe even catz. I’ll let you know. BTW #dogsrule

Jackie Long wraps up her interview with Dr. Husam Zomlot, and, if you think about it, the state of the UK, Canada and the rest of the West’s efforts to stop Netanyahu’s genocide, when she says repeatedly, “We’ll have to leave it there.”
"If we don't save Gaza we would not have saved our international order. Humanity will be buried in Gaza."

The articulate rage of Dr Husam Zomlot, Head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK, needs to be heard by every Western leader enabling the genocide & starvation in #Gaza.

I’m happy I had this to wake up to.
Art doesn’t fix the world, but it helps you live through it. Stories may not stop oppression, but they remind you you’re not crazy for wanting a better world. Beauty may not pay rent right now, but it can keep you from going numb. We’re not machines. We need something besides survival.

I have the T**** word filtered out of my feed, but I don't think it's possible to filter it out of screenshots. Sometimes that's more than okay. This is one of those times.
