Really excited to share the preprint for @halbevi.bsky.social and I’s new paper! Lithic tools from the Mesolithic and Neolithic were analysed with palaeoproteomics, use-wear, radiocarbon and optical microscopy residue analyses to find evidence of bovine butchery!

These are SO fun. We had a class during my undergrad at the University of York (Archaeology) where we had to make memes - I remember it well. I’m sure I still have the one I made saved somewhere…
Fro the last few years, as part of a final assignment in my senior biophysical chem class I ask students to share a class-related memes, with ones they make themselves highly encouraged!
For everyone's enjoyment, here are some of my favorites!

Typos, gender-neutral pronouns and even emotional language in patient messages make large language models more likely to recommend people stay home instead of seek medical care.

This AI bias could be especially problematic for certain patient populations. 🧪

I’ve been living in fearful anticipation of this situation for all of my doctorate so far - and have awe for those who pull through it all! Including colleagues who defended grant applications and #PhD in the same week! #academia
Recently, many people have commented on how hard it must be to simultaneously finish analyses, write my PhD thesis, and apply for fellowships/grants/jobs. It is hard. But it is also nice to be validated by other scientists, particularly those at a higher level. Thank you for the empathy. ❤️🧠⚛️🧑‍🔬🧪
