Rewatched Interstellar (IMAX copy but at home) and was very disappointed. Script was better when I was in middle school. Looks cool I guess but what a thin dystopia. Not bad but just fine

bad bad bad. Daniel Penny was obviously guilty of recklessly causing Jordan Neely's death. Even if you think his actions were morally justified, he committed manslaughter. I worry that this effectively legalizes killing "scary" people having mental health crises in public.

In all of the "Bernie underperformed Harris" discourse I've somehow never heard anyone until @faiz.bsky.social mention that there was a left wing former state who ran as an independent that got 2.2% of the vote while Stein wasnt even on the ballot there!

He had just made stacks of cash pedaling a book about it that contradicted parts of his on the record story, and notably spent most of his time "denying he had ever benefited financially because of his father's position" and explaining how he wasn't acting as an unregistered lobbyist.

I see "the US is spending $150B on illegal immigrants" a lot so I decided to look into it. Turns out $78B of that is K-12 education for kids of illegal immigrants, tons of whom are US citizens!
Another $47B is the cost of jailing undocumented immigrants. That's not welfare!
