Redwork patterns a pretty easy to find. I mainly create portraits, but I have some others like tea pots. Another great source for fun, beginner friendly embroidery designs is Sublime Stitching.

The dress I made all on my own & that was a big learning curve. For the quilt top I took a two day beginner class at my LQS. It was great because it focused on precise measuring, cutting & pressing. We used the yellow brick road pattern by Terry Atkinson. Great instructions.

Frances Ellen Watkins Harper’s speeches are some of the best I have ever read.

Start with something simple like Redwork! It only requires three stitches, stem stitch, lazy daisy & French knot. )My patterns mainly only have stem stitch.) You only need a needle, one skein of floss, scissors, hoop, scrap of cotton/linen a few inches larger than your hoop and a pattern!

I’ve been embroidering since 1998. I just sewed my first piece of clothing & my first quilt top this year.

Complaining about other voices and other perspectives in comics is like complaining that a restaurant serves some dishes you don't want to eat. It's sad and self centered and childish.

Anyway, comics are great. Read the ones you want to read. Make the ones you want to make.
