This was an unexpected but important opportunity for me, as McDowell is a writer I admire a lot. He was also a gay man who lived with and died from AIDS, and in his original draft did not shy away from the AIDS subtext of the original story--all but erased in the final film.
A few years ago, thanks to generous @rangedtouch.bsky.social supporters, I was able to purchase at auction a copy of author Michael McDowell's original screenplay for the film adaptation of THINNER. I finally got around to scanning it and have uploaded it here: archive.org/details/mc-d...
