the great thing about playing new horizons from the beginning now is that there's a fair bit more to do in the game than there was at launch. by the time updates added Redd and gyroids originally, I did check them out for a bit, but I was tired of the game. with a new island though, I'm having fun

I installed the ps5 version of kiwami 2. man it's been so long since I played this, I did not remember most of the opening cutscenes at all. feels a little different from most yakuza games

I saw someone on youtube doing a bit of anime dubbing just for fun, but they were using the subtitles as the script. and they did a good job at that, but it definitely demonstrated why dub scripts get rewritten

when all I knew was the title, I assumed K-Pop Demon Hunters was not going to be good. who would? when the reviews came out I was like, "oh nice, I'll watch it." but originally I thought it was like, "hey you know what's trendy? K-Pop. you know what else is popular? Demon Slayer. I've got an idea"

once again my apple music rewind is like "Yeah you've listened for about 20,000 minutes this year, your top artists are the ones who made several of your favorite albums which you've had on rotation all year—and also Aqours—your top songs are all from the same album"—it's just not that interesting.

while I will miss the inter-connected areas of Prime 1, I've been saying "we need more Ocarina of Time-likes" so that means I am honor-bound to play this game

Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information
