Monopoly and totalitarianism go hand in hand.

The only way to stop the growing censorship of Trump's critics is to fight the consolidation of media outlets into the hands of a few families that do not care about the best interests of the country.

A reminder that the entire #DisabilityStudies team at Liverpool Hope (my former colleagues) are threatened with redundancy. Devastating not just for individuals, but for the field. Students have written this powerful open letter about the impact. #SaveHopeDisabilityStudies

Powerful open letter from Liverpool Hope #DisabilityStudies students/grads in response to proposed redundancy of the ENTIRE DS team: DS "is not just an academic discipline but a lifeline. [Tutors] bring lived expertise, intellectual leadership, and care that cannot be replicated elsewhere"

More evidence that US citizens are not safe in this assault on democracy. Two American citizens detained while driving home. Of note: "CBP insists that the incident was routine...that can 'apply for any traveler'.”

Expect to see "detentions" of US citizens become routine under this corrupt regime.

News update - we just sent the letter to the Commission. We very much hope we can engage constructively on this issue, and are looking forward to contributing to solutions that benefit journalists, citizens and officials alike.
This morning, journalists from across Europe went public with a call to the European Commission to keep the promise of the EU treaties, and actually stick to the bloc's freedom of information law.
