my favorite fact about the unitary executive theory is it basically rests on two lines in the constitution, a misread passage from one of hamilton's federalist papers, and a vision of the 19th century presidency that has studiously resisted in any actual scholarship

The Trump White House puts out one EO after another that might make sense had it just won a landmark Supreme Court case uprooting old law, but without there being any such cases. It's speculating on wins in cases still unheard, carving nuggets from chickens still unhatched. /9
