We are seeing this admin over and over again decide to target people who have become technically deportable through no fault of their own other than government delay.
Why? One reason is because they’re the compliant ones who are easy targets for an admin who wants quick boosts in arrest numbers.

These are people who entered legally and applied for asylum after entry while still in status. But the process is so backlogged that their visa inevitably expired while going through it. In every previously admin, so long as they didn’t commit a crime, they wouldn’t be detained. No longer.

Well the filing date for running for Congress is in early December in TX. Unless SCOTUS rules before that date - which Alito will likely block - the stay will de facto bless the new map for 2026.
