This is the busiest cycle path in the Netherlands, Utrecht's Vredenburg. Private cars are not allowed. The path connects the busy Utrecht Centraal station to the historic center and the rest of the city.

The Dutch recommend bike paths be smooth, clear of obstructions, and a minimum of 230cm (7.5') for 1-way & 400cm (13') for 2-way paths.
Because conflicts inevitably happen on narrower paths.
