How I will be incorporating nutrition as a future healthcare provider. I will always explain the importance of nutrition. I feel people only say “it’s good for you” to eat healthy. In the future I will fully explain to all my patients why nutrition is so beneficial for oneself.

During finals week I’ll eat out a lot becuz I don’t have much time to cook. But when I do cook on the days I can, I’ll make a meal that’s quick like a shrimp Alfredo pasta. I’ll make my own Alfredo sauce and add bell pepper veggies which makes it so much better in my opinion.

I chose this article for a parent on how to eat well because I feel this would be easier to read and will help them get a good diet for their child and to find more evidence on good diets for kids.

In the future when working with my clients and if they are worried about their wait I will tell them to focus on what they eat first and practicing some light workouts until your comfortable enough to get into rigoureux workouts.

Something I learned I this weeks reading was that you weight can make you feel so insecure you may not want to even hear what the doctor has to say. Which can cause health issues, This reading also showed me that what you eat is what’s most important in your diet.

I also learned from the obesity lesson about Leptin which James Cordan states that it is a gene that regulates weight and some individuals gain or lose more weight than others based on genetics. I researched it and found it interesting to know the factor of weight regulation.

What I learned from the obesity lesson is over the years the US has become overweight. I feel it’s due to all the processed food being sold. As James Cordan said fat shaming is still around unfortunately. Instead of ppl fat shaming we need to be encouraging better health to ppl who are overweight.

I really would like to change my eating habits because I feel I would feel better and look my best. Reading this showed me I am not alone and it’s completely normal and can be changed.

A barrier I can relate to is Baseline hunger that is associated with emotional responses such as stress. When I get stressed I frequently eat a lot of sweets, for comfort. Such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies etc. Which took a toll on my natural weight.

For my patient I would suggest this resource from the cdc because it provides healthy eating tips for someone trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Such as, bumping up fiber, increasing calcium and vitamin D, and limiting added sugars, etc.

A Fad diet I am interested in is the Gluten free diet. As I got older I realized I have became gluten sensitive. Where I bloat easily. So I want to try looking into more gluten free foods and the gluten free diet to see what can I eat to avoid bloating all the time. @beh353.bsky.social

How I can make my meals more nutrient dense is to stop eating a lot of rice. I am a big rice person especially white rice and I basically cook it with every meal. So cooking healthier alternatives other than rice I feel would be helpful.

Since I haven’t been feeling well, I have not ate much in the last 24 hours. I did have some noodle soup and a bite of a subway sandwich that had cucumbers, spinach, turkey, cheese, raw onion, baja chipotle sauce and mayo. This was hard to do because I couldn’t hold much down. @beh353.bsky.social

I love this post because it’s amazing how food can take part in your emotions. As discussed in the lectures this week. “Brain food” is the first that came to mind when I seen this. When the brain is getting food from glucose. Which can assist in mood and also give your brain the nutrients it needs.

A fun fact from the lecture that I learned was about protein. And how protein helps with weight loss. I am currently still learning about different proteins for my well-being so this was interesting to me. Because I always think of proteins as only building muscle and toning.
