Hi jasmine! I think it’s so important to provide knowledge to patients on nutrition because it will definitely help manage chronic conditions and non communicable diseases one being diabetes and it can assist someone who is pre diabetic, prevent type 2 diabetes.

Same here!! And I think it’s a great idea to consistently educate and encourage nutrition. Because people are really unaware of nutrition and how beneficial it is to eat healthy.
April 27, 2025 at 2:15 AM
I want all my patients to know why nutrition can save their life and provide longevity in their life if they have a healthy diet. Many healthcare professionals will only say eat healthy to “be strong” or to “lose weight”. But not fully acknowledging the benefits of nutrition for a patient.

How I will be incorporating nutrition as a future healthcare provider. I will always explain the importance of nutrition. I feel people only say “it’s good for you” to eat healthy. In the future I will fully explain to all my patients why nutrition is so beneficial for oneself.

Heyy Sophia, it’s mine too it’s too good! And yes for sure I’ll definitely try to find time too cook cuz always eating out is definitely not always the best option for health it’s just the cleaning process after cooking 😂

No seriously, quick and easy foods are a must during finals it’s so hard to balance cooking and trying to study and work during this time! I definitely try to stay away from foods that are packed with high calories as well but it’s so hard to when
Stressed out 😭sweets are my weakness!!
April 20, 2025 at 2:26 AM
Yess! Early in the mornings I’ll have a yogurt and a muffin to start my day. Or I’ll make a fruit smoothie and some waffles. (I make the waffles myself in a waffle maker).
April 20, 2025 at 2:24 AM
During finals week I’ll eat out a lot becuz I don’t have much time to cook. But when I do cook on the days I can, I’ll make a meal that’s quick like a shrimp Alfredo pasta. I’ll make my own Alfredo sauce and add bell pepper veggies which makes it so much better in my opinion.

Yess it definitely does I use vegetable oil but I heard olive oil is a little more beneficial. I think it’s very interesting that even oil can hurt our health depending on the oil we use.

I chose this article for a parent on how to eat well because I feel this would be easier to read and will help them get a good diet for their child and to find more evidence on good diets for kids.

Hey Vivian I agree with this. Staying consistent is super important in one’s diet Toms story was definitely an eye opener. And It made me think most about what we as people put in our systems and why some of us struggle with weight loss.

Yess I enjoyed reading his story because it also showed me that you can overcome being insecure by just changing one habit.

In the future when working with my clients and if they are worried about their wait I will tell them to focus on what they eat first and practicing some light workouts until your comfortable enough to get into rigoureux workouts.

Something I learned I this weeks reading was that you weight can make you feel so insecure you may not want to even hear what the doctor has to say. Which can cause health issues, This reading also showed me that what you eat is what’s most important in your diet.

This is factss! The obesity rates really does need more attention! I feel they are adding so much to the foods to help preserve foods longer but are not considering are health. It’s extremely sad to see young kids have body dysmorphia. And it’s not their faults.

Yess! I completely agree I am now learning to cut down on things in my current diet. Because I wasn’t seeing results until I started to eat differently. Which really began to help with weight loss and drinking a lot of water as well.

I also learned from the obesity lesson about Leptin which James Cordan states that it is a gene that regulates weight and some individuals gain or lose more weight than others based on genetics. I researched it and found it interesting to know the factor of weight regulation.

What I learned from the obesity lesson is over the years the US has become overweight. I feel it’s due to all the processed food being sold. As James Cordan said fat shaming is still around unfortunately. Instead of ppl fat shaming we need to be encouraging better health to ppl who are overweight.

Hey Macaylan,

I agree with this! Because a lot of times it’s so hard for
Me to plan around my schedule as well working full time and going to school full time it’s hard to find healthy foods to
Cook at home u just want to buy fast food. I get that 100%. Grabbing anything from the house is to real!
March 22, 2025 at 11:49 PM
I really would like to change my eating habits because I feel I would feel better and look my best. Reading this showed me I am not alone and it’s completely normal and can be changed.

A barrier I can relate to is Baseline hunger that is associated with emotional responses such as stress. When I get stressed I frequently eat a lot of sweets, for comfort. Such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies etc. Which took a toll on my natural weight.
