The turtle gang and you are lucky to have each other!
Your fellow NY state resident Dr. Wall Kimmerer wrote about turtles, if I recall, how they're dying in great numbers trying to cross busy roads. I hope NY state is making some effort to protect them.

Thanks for the context. Is this turtle wild or a pet or something in between?

The problem is they think there's a higher cost to net zero than savings. This isn't true. Sustainable energy is cheaper than oil and gas. It's even free in some countries.

All 18 British bat species are insectivorous, which means they feed on insects, many of which begin life in water.
When beavers create ponds and channels, they boost aquatic insect populations and, in turn, provide rich feeding grounds for bats.

I've reported on several meetings of climate-concerned people here in S. England. Few people I interviewed want to use their full name for fear of being shunned & bullied by neighbours. Despite this area having a national park (New Forest) it's overwhelmingly Conservative & anti- environmentalist.

There's already AI that predicts bat and bird flight patterns based on prior behaviour and recommends turbine locations that would reduce incidences of collision.
Tabulating deaths after the turbines have been put in (the wrong) place just plays into the hands of industry opponents of clean energy.

Yes, but no more cannon blasts or gun salutes. Those that died in battle did so to protect this land from such terrors. Why voluntarily re-create the soundscape of war here?!
Military veterans, refugees, others with PTSD ask it to stop, but bozos who haven't seen war think silence is unpatriotic 🙄

Nurdle is a microplastic bead. Nerdle is a puzzle.
Arguably, both are applicable.😉

UK lost 63% of all insects from 2021-2023. Nature is now developing faster for the worse than human children develop during their growth stage.
