I'm honestly surprised I don't see more discussion of this outcome. A permanent immiserated underclass ruled by a few hyperrich lords doesn't require anyone to hack the grid or invent a novel bioweapon, you just need AI to advance and our society to *continue to operate exactly the way it does*
