Important to realise the growing white nationalist “London has fallen” rhetoric is targeted at non-Londoners and does need refuting. A woman in our village told me confidently she expected I wouldn’t be going to London so much now everyone was being stabbed by immigrants and was implacable in this.
I wonder what Londoners know that the rest of the country don’t?

By recognising children’s equal right to live free from violence, it sets a clear line and shifts attitudes – and protects children where there was no protection before. England and Northern Ireland should follow Wales, and finally enact a ban on hitting children. humanists.uk/2026/01/06/t...

🚨 “Can I tell you how many times in the last 45 years the European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the UK when it comes to deporting people from this country - only 13 times - in 45 years”

Please remember this in 2026 when Nigel Farage tells you we must leave the ECHR to control our borders
Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should & should not apply to. Because none of us then has rights, just privileges that can be taken away by those in power

Nigel Farage again today calling for the UK to leave the ECHR

The European Convention on Human Rights PROTECTS US ALL

WE MUST PROTECT IT, NOT LEAVE IT
“The European Convention on Human Rights protects us all. The rights within it are the reason why families devastated by disasters like Hillsborough could demand justice, why victims of abuse can seek safety, & why disabled people are treated with dignity in care

But Ukraine refused to pull its draft resolution.

So the US voted... with Russia, Iran, Israel & North Korea... against Ukraine.

Unlike his colleagues at the BBC, Nick Robinson has it in him to hold politicians to account. Wish he'd use it more.
Kuenssberg and Chris Mason don't.
Here is the key section of that train wreck of an interview by Robert Jenrick on #r4today.

Robinson: Did you raise it when you were Home Office minister?

Jenrick: We talked about it... I wasn't... My portfolio... But we talked about it.

Only a minute, if you can bear it. ~AA
