MD/PhD candidate studying low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) for human neuromodulation in the Legon Lab @fralinbiomed.bsky.social
Pinned
What is low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) for human neuromodulation? It was a privilege to help write this primer with my mentor Wynn Legon, out now @methodsprimers.bsky.social. You can read the full article here rdcu.be/d38Rl. @fralinbiomed.bsky.social.
Low-intensity focused ultrasound for human neuromodulation
Nature Reviews Methods Primers - Low-intensity focused ultrasound offers non-invasive neuromodulation, targeting deep brain structures with adjustable parameters. In this Primer, Legon and Strohman...

🚨 New lab paper!🚨

A dream study of mine for nearly 20 yrs not possible until now thanks to NIH 🧠 funding & 1st-author lead @seeber.bsky.social

We tracked hippocampal activity as people walked memory-guided paths & imagined them again. Did brain patterns reappear?🧵👇

Human neural dynamics of real-world and imagined navigation - Nature Human Behaviour
Seeber et al. studied brain recordings from implanted electrodes in freely moving humans. Neural dynamics encoded actual and imagined routes similarly, demonstrating parallels between navigational, im...

Get in ultrasound researchers, we're making this Blue Sky thing happen. I'm making an ultrasound researchers starter pack, and I'm not stopping until I get 150 of you on there:

The brain’s action-mode is created by a dedicated action-mode network (AMN) rdcu.be/d5odm. In the brain’s mode continuum, AMN sits opposite DMN’s default-mode, as yin-yang. AMN might be key in pain, apathy, Parkinson’s. New @natrevneurosci.bsky.social w/ Marc Raichle & @gordonneuro.bsky.social 🧵 ⬇️

Excited to share our latest findings, now published @NatureNeuro www.nature.com/articles/s41...

We found unmyelinated axons exhibit pearls-on-a-string morphology's due to their membrane mechanical properties.

Threads will follow!

I'm still missing lots of transcranial ultrasound neuromod folks on BlueSky, so trying to create a starter pack that I hope we can add many people to in the next weeks... please spread the word and let me know who I have missed out!
