Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

Oh my god: the reason for this parliamentary recall is to make plans for British Steel, in order to ward off the threat from Nigel
The Speaker has granted a request from the Government to recall the House at 11am on Saturday 12 April to take forward legislative proposals to ensure the continued operation of British Steel blast furnaces is safeguarded.

Just to be absolutely clear: for 2 months we have been told the administration is working out the barriers faced by American firms including tariffs & all sorts of non-tariff barriers like regulations, VAT rates etc. And they just haven’t. They’ve used a blanket stupid formula based on trade flows.

You see, boys and girls, that "Donald Trump the great billionaire businessman" had never been a true story, and by the time those American voters who had wanted to believe in him realised their folly, his lack of business understanding tanked the United States economy.

💥🇭🇺 Police have given up guarding Budapest’s Liberty Bridge as anti-government protesters shut down traffic on four major bridges, rallying against Viktor Orbán’s new law curbing freedom of assembly and banning the Pride march.

They vow to escalate with a 24-hour shutdown next week.

Been thinking a lot today about that Maya Angelou quote:

"At the end of the day people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel."

A remarkable statement in a judgment against US government.

Rare to see a government defence described in such stark terms by a judge.

This is judicial comment turned up to 11, so to speak.
This is pretty damning.

This report should break something in all of us.

15,613 children.

The first 27 pages of the report list children whose ages are 0.

26% were under the age of 5

Here is a video of federal agents detaining Tufts University PhD student Rumeysa Ozturk Tuesday night.

Being snatched off the street for your opinions. I'll say it again. We are deciding, right now, whether the aspirations we hold for this country are finished. Whether we're going to let these hoodlums and grifters throw what's left of the American idea into the garbage for their own profit and gain.

3 out of 4 of the students on the top deck (Scumbag College) went to public schools.

3 out of 4 of the students on the bottom deck (Footlights College) were state school educated.

A great, counterintuitive thing that is oddly satisfying.

Catherine and her cat from Zaporizhzhia. She spent 5 hours under the rubble of her house, destroyed by a Russian missile. All this time she has been hugging her cat.

P.S. Sorry she didn't wear a suit.

On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz I wanted to share this quote from Prime Levi:

"Auschwitz is outside of us, but it is all around us, in the air. The plague has died away, but the infection still lingers and it would be foolish to deny it....

I don't really use TikTok that much, but I find it fascinating that our government is on the verge of banning an app for national security reasons that are still unclear in the same week that Meta, the largest social media company, says it's now fine to hate LGBTQ people and call us mentally ill.
