what if the firehose of fascist shit isn't wiping out the memory of the electorate? what if it's just hitting different things? and idk it seems like a persisting problem to me that dems aren't in lockstep with and fully tied to no kings, possibly the biggest social movement in american history

things take time to percolate but truly the weirdest shit keeps percolating and resonating. I interviewed a super normie at no kings last time and he had a sign joking about being antifa and the number one thing he was mad about off the top of his head was venezuelan boat strikes

Also, anytime you are thinking about calling the cops, ask yourself, "will this situation be improved by (more) guns?" If the answer is no, don't call them.

(And yes I added “…to protect freedom” as a qualifier. To what degree that complicates whom we should celebrate and whom we shouldn’t is a good question we should be wrestling with imo).

My wife finally gave up on CVS entirely … and weirdly discovered Walmart is able to get meds in CVS struggles with, and the pharmacy staff have been pleasant, responsive, etc.

My first thought was you got added to some random ass block list — I worried when those first were launched this sort of thing would happen :-/

Don’t forget lifetime maximums , even on employer plans. I would have been uninsurable by age 31 without ACA because of two hugely expensive medical emergencies. The only only reason I was able to have kids was ACA

The fights I had on the phone advocating for my employees' health coverage were outrageous. Parents who had kids with genetic syndromes. Older employees with cancer. Increasing the number of roadblocks to care was their strategy (that, and increasing the reserves they could invest and keep.)

I'll never forget when I was meeting with the BCBSIL VP of Customer Service in 1990 about our plan and he, looking bored, looked at his watch. Then asked me "Hey, would you like a trip to Bourbonnais from Meigs Field in our plane? You can see the Call Center." The waste. The lack of care.

-People with pre-existing conditions or who had a spouse/kids with a pre-existing condition were essentially handcuffed to the company because they could not afford to switch insurance plans.
