Another little known fact: the grid connection charges National Grid makes add up to more than the investment needed to build a renewable energy infrastructure.

The British national grid is yet another privatised rip off.
The National Grid (which is Australian) is making £1.5bn a year profit from you and increasing by 12% per year.

£55 of your Energy Bill goes straight to them in profit.

Aren't we lucky it was privatised?

It's slightly weird that Labour's branch manager in Scotland consistently refuses to defend Labour policies.

It's almost like, by saying nothing, no blame will attach to him.

Given that I'm older than Mahmood I'll wager I've been told "go home Paki" more than she has, and I've been beaten up by white gangs more times than she has. So let's be very clear, she's not taking the colour of my skin as license for her policies.

Great 🧵 describing Labour's hostile environment policies for refugees and asylum seekers last time they were in office. A catalogue of loud announcements and quiet failure.

They've started to follow the same path, appearing to have learned nothing.
Mahmoud has listened to same clique of senior Home Office officials who have advised for 30+ years that loud announcements of punitive policies will deter refugees from coming to UK to seek asylum.

Labour did this extensively last time. It didn’t work.

A history thread. +

So... Labour imitating Reform leads to Reform feeling emboldened to go even further down the populist sewer. Who'd have guessed 🤔
Farage and Zia Yusuf are going to announce tomorrow that a Reform government will strip millions of EU nationals of benefits, more than double the cost of the NHS surcharge and cut foreign aid spending by more than 70%, The Times reports.

More Trumpian blood and soil nonsense.
November 18, 2025 at 8:30 AM
Yesterday it was Farage. Today I find myself agreeing with Corbyn. Although I suspect Farage would agree with him too...
Removing asylum support. Seizing belongings. Deporting entire families, including children.

Labour are not just paving the path to a Reform government. Reform may as well already be in power.

This government has no moral compass — and it should be ashamed of its inhumanity.

So Labour trail their new immigration proposals - and then announce ones that are even more inhumane!

Removing any legal duty to provide asylum seekers with accommodation; forcing them to support themselves without benefits; but still banning them from working.

A destitute, homeless welcome.
November 17, 2025 at 8:03 PM
The thing to realise about Farage is that your standards of acceptability are not his standards of acceptability. It's a trait conmen often share.
"An honest, decent, honourable man who's been loyal to me and the party at all times."

🥀Labour are launching another vile attack on fundamental human rights.

It is not illegal to seek asylum and refuge here, no matter the circumstances. No human is illegal.

We strongly oppose Labour's Trump-style plans.

So much for Starmer's promised reset in relations. He's refused to meet our First Minister to discuss the upcoming budget, and Scotland's priorities.

How do you get "cars and e-bikes" into small boats? Will refugee jewelry be kept after they're deported? And other such stupid questions that arise from a very stupid Labour policy...
