How many torment nexuses are we going to invent. How much per month are you willing to pay to talk to a fake version of your dead family member living on some corporate server. How long until a faceless tech companies reading off an ad script is pretending to be your mentor and parent.

U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just took the bench. She's expected to rule on a request for a preliminary injunction governing the use of force by federal agents in Chicago.
Good morning. Back in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis, who is expected to rule in 20 minutes on the use of force by federal agents against protesters and journalists in Chicago.

I can't endorse this highly enough. If Lina Khan were to run for president, I would vote for her in a hot minute. To have her in a position directing policy development once more is a huge win for the people of NYC and the USA more generally.

you can win without billionaires supporting you

you can win without party leadership endorsing you

you can win unapologetically standing with every persecuted minority pundits say are too politically toxic to touch

we could do everything about this process differently if we wanted to
Can’t stop thinking about all the robber baron fucks that held secret meetings and spent MILLIONS AND MILLIONS in bribes and campaign investments and attack ads and media manipulation trying to tank Mamdani currently having the dawning realization that their money is completely and utterly useless.

The last 2 weeks saw major cloud outages from #AmazonWebServices and #MicrosoftAzure affecting thousands of websites. As @ceciliarikap.bsky.social and I argue in @tribunemagazine.bsky.social this event is a wakeup call about the security risks of tech dependency. tribunemag.co.uk/2025/11/why-...
Why Digital Sovereignty Matters
Amazon and Microsoft’s cloud blackouts paralysed public services across the globe this autumn — a warning of what happens when essential infrastructure is left in the hands of private US monopolies.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

Crain’s is good about revenue sources and splits

I believe the parts not discussed above (parking reform, land development authority, etc.) are largely retained from May
Last-minute, $1.5B transit compromise being debated in Springfield
The transit revenue package relies on increasing the transit sales tax in the six-county region and transportation related sources. It also includes a steep tollway hike.
