For this little jaunt to Montreal, I went with Hell Is Other People (Mooncat), which I did not pick because it matches the purple walls in Lasalle metro station, but I sure did photograph it there when I noticed!

The resulting drink has an intense floral nose, almost overwhelming, like a spring garden in full bloom. It particularly smells of roses, along with strong honey notes. In the mouth, it's a gentle and very sweet sip, like apple juice diluted with rosewater, all flowers and honey. Quite bold!

Current bouquet! I don't usually gravitate toward roses, but the light orange colour of these really appealed. My space has a lot of green so orange is always a contrasting pop of colour, and these reminded me of Fanta or fresh-squeezed juice.

But HT occasionally creates something Mooncat-ish like this one, called Existential Crisis: a teal jelly base with various colours of shimmer and glitter that make it super shifty depending on the light. Accent nail of Poison Ivy, a plain dark teal creme (Mooncat).

#manicure #extremityfetish This week, I branched out. Instead of a Mooncat polish, I chose one from Holo Taco, another indie brand. They make lovely stuff, but most of it is just doing one thing at a time, whereas Mooncat almost always has more going on in a given formula.

Inspired by a recent @cheesesexdeath.bsky.social post, I put together a little cheese snack for a small gathering today: a soft and scoopable Château de Bourgogne, mixed root vegetable chips and maple-onion jam. It was rich and delicious! Very autumnal.

#manicure #extremityfetish I didn't know, when I chose a thermal polish for this week (Twilight Sonata by Mooncat), that I'd have such a convenient opportunity to show off its warm/cold colour-changing properties. 😑 Anyway, here it is: deep royal blue when cold, purple when warm, & a fun transition.

I bought some pumpkin donuts at Downey's Pumpkin Farm a week and a half ago. Went stale. I decided to try a thing: I sliced one, toasted it, crumbled it over vanilla Hagen Dasz, and added crumbled pecans and pumpkin seeds. Not bad at all! Next time I'll add a shake of cinnamon and nutmeg. 😋

I was doing touch-ups yesterday and decided to see what it would look like if I added one coat each of Mooncat's Nirvana Pro X and Foxfire toppers. With the huge flakies of NPX I'm not sure you can tell Forbidden Cove is under there. But I'm still into it! Rainbow flakes on black FTW! 😃

Happy Halloween... and happy new bike day to me! 🎃 This new beast doesn't have a name yet and I'm not sure about pronouns, I imagine it will tell me as we get to know each other. It's a charcoal (looks like pearlized black) Pelago Airisto, with all the bells (literally) and whistles (not literally).

The left hand didn't turn out quite right... I wanted grey glow-in-the-dark so I layered Castle of Cobwebs over Imperial Stormtrooper but it turned blue. Still cute, just not what I had in mind. Anyway I'm pleased with the Halloween hand!

All polishes Mooncat (black: Emo for Life, white: White Rabbit) except orange (I hate orange but in comes in handy for such things), red, & black polish pen. The ghost & moon behind the bats both glow in the dark (Castle of Cobwebs) & the bat sky is a black-to-grey thermal (Imperial Stormtrooper).
