The perennial question: am I still an emerging writer or have I emerged?

As another person who wouldn't be where she is without Tamora Pierce, I love this so much.
(the 25 cents was on In The Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce, which I found in paperback for a quarter in one of the random bins of books in the summer of '94, with the OG spoiler-filled cover, and it's INCREDIBLY POSSIBLE I would not be an author without the spiral this book sent me on 💓)

sometimes I am reminded that I am, actually, still capable of being shocked by these people
Threatening people with internment in *checks notes* Little Tokyo near the Japanese American Museum is *really* dirty work.
Piece of shit ICE fascists are swarming Little Tokyo. Posted up outside the Japanese American Museum threatening people with internment. Impossible to overstate how disgusting these people are.

I know it's trendy to hate on Andrew Lloyd Webber, but Jesus Christ Superstar has a lot of bangers.

a little reminder for me & maybe you, too: your sadness doesn’t make you unlovable. your sensitivity doesn’t make you too much. you are not irreparably broken. you are you & you are wonderful— & deserving of love & attention & care, just as you are. 🖤

Some of these feel more achievable than others.

Give Miami Day is Thursday 11/21, but early giving is open now.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT.

We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.

I'm wearing my Cat Ladies for Kamala t-shirt and I'm ready to volunteer for yes on 4 campaign in Florida. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I am still going to work for my reproductive freedom.
