Handing back student work that’s been written by ChatGPT with a 0 followed by the comment “This essay will never stand in authentic wonder before the Beauty of God’s creation.”
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

United Health wants its ‘swagger back’.

How? By dropping a million seniors from Medicare Advantage

Why? America's largest insurer wants to improve its profit margins, medical costs are skyrocketing because the GOP cut Medicaid and ACA subsidies.

one thing I will say for the new Wicked movie is that hearing "For Good" sung by two women who are deeply in love with each other is an experience

hot take but George Harrison was the only legitimately handsome Beatle
The restoration of “Beatles Anthology,” a documentary series that first aired in the U.S. in 1995, will start streaming on Wednesday on Disney+. Here's what else to watch on TV this week.
‘The Beatles Anthology,’ Plus 9 Things to Watch on TV This Week
The remastered documentary series will be released, and we watch some reader recommendations, including “The Gone” and “Dark.”

decent list from Big JB. Would quibble slightly with 2-5 but in general pretty solid
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

my music hot take is that Addison Rae's debut album is one of the only actually fresh sounds in new pop

on the subway yesterday i heard a young guy talking to his friends about how he wanted a new job because "i really don't like selling office supplies to people." what kind of George Costanza-ass 1990s job is that

there was a whole Glee arc in 2010 about how any gay chorus boy with a high kick could be a credible kicker
A position once akin to a glorified ball boy is attracting better athletes, and specialized training and technological advances are pushing the limits.

More from @danrobson.bsky.social, including a glimpse at record-breaking Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey ⤵️

Mo'ne Davis spent years telling people that she was done playing baseball. She did not want to be forever defined by what she did as a 13-year-old in Little League, a decade ago, and she did not feel like there was space for her to do much else. And then she felt differently. On Davis and the WPBL:
Mo’ne Davis Is Finally Ready to Play Baseball Again
More than a decade after becoming a Little League sensation at age 13, Mo’ne Davis is set to make more history as the face of the Women’s Pro Baseball League.

Does this lore help or hurt Andy Pettitte's Hall of Fame case
I remember being 12 years old and totally scandalized by the rumors that he got caught with a mistress and that's why he had to sign with Houston in 2004. Good times.

for what it's worth (nothing) if I were a BBWAA writer this year I would vote for Beltran, A. Jones, A-Rod, Manny, Pettitte, Rollins. Maybe Utley.
this year's Hall of Fame ballot is so weak that if I were a voting writer I would throw borderline/noncandidates like Andy Pettitte and Jimmy Rollins "you were that guy" votes and would still not come close to having 10 on my ballot
