Sincere apologies to anyone attending the @uwebristolofficial.bsky.social open day today who was planning to speak to me about the MSC Public Health programme! Sadly I have torn my calf muscle and can’t attend. Please get in touch and I will be happy to arrange a call next week!

I’ve just subscribed. Will you?
It’s all beginning to feel a bit 1984. We’re in a battle against autocrats and oligarchs who are using money and misinformation to dismantle democracies. That’s why we’re looking for 1,984 new monthly supporters to make our biggest and boldest plans a reality (see link in bio)

My thoughts exactly! Critical thinking is an essential human skill, and we are going to lose it.
"when people turn to generative AI to complete complex tasks, and thereby give over the work of those tasks to a computer, how does that impact their capacity to critically engage with the world around them?"

First day back in the office today following a really challenging couple of weeks on a personal level, and on my desk I find a bottle of wine, a packet of Flipz, some biscuits and a little note. Such a lovely surprise and it made my day!

Also Flipz should be illegal IMO - they are too delicious.

This poor young man - what a ridiculous state of affairs. I really feel for him and his family and hope for his speedy release. Let’s hope some people see sense very soon…

As I face up to the reality of returning to work on Monday and ponder how on earth I will get up before 11am, this post (stolen from Instagram) feels appropriate.

Let me frolic!

Stargazing in the Forest of Dean last night - Jupiter is the bright light in the first pic, Mars is the one in the second pic. It’s still a beautiful world kids ⭐️ 🪐

We’ve escaped to the Forest of Dean for a couple of nights and visited the wonderful Severn and Wye Smokery en route. This was a ‘small plate’ of mussels 😍

Highly recommend if you’re passing - the scallops were also amazing 🤩

We’re working to create a place where all of us – communities, councils, companies, charities and change makers – join forces in making #loneliness a stranger.

Every time I look at @niallharbison.bsky.social posts I just feel like handing in my notice and going to live in Thailand to spend the rest of my days rescuing street dogs. I’m sure it’s not easy, but he makes it look like an absolute dream. Sigh. X
Snickers is the Thai street dog who brought me a gift every single day when I fed her.

Today was a very special day for her as we were giving her the news that every single dog in the world deserves.

Nobody deserves it more… (1/8)
