Welp, I guess it's time to relaunch our 2018 "Reproduction Causes Autism" t-shirt campaign—because anyone claiming otherwise is selling something, and/or holding a major US government position. Proceeds to benefit @autisticadvocacy.org.

Accidentally bumped into some pro-eating disorder stuff on my feed yesterday. Curious as to if this has happened to anyone else and to how it hit you, psychologically (it can be triggering). #eatingdisorder #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #eatingdisorderrecovery #edrecovery

Never forget how strong you are and never be afraid to reach out for support. This is not a battle you need to fight alone. ❤️‍🩹
💙 1 in 4 people live with a #MentalIllness.
If that’s you, please remember: you are not weak.

Fighting a war inside your head 24/7 takes real strength.
Never forget how strong you truly are. 🌿✨

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Pride. This is a time where we remember the battles queer people have fought and continue to fight and provide safe spaces for queer people to express themselves as they are. Please respect that. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈#transrightsarehumanrights #loveislove

Having trouble sleeping due to pain? Let’s talk coping mechanisms. Two of my favourites are poetry and mindfulness. Here they are together in a poem I wrote last night on my other account while I dealt with a migraine.
From my 3am battle royale with a migraine this morning:

Passing through my brain
Like stabbing knives and ice picks
Overwhelming pain
Building my immunity
With mindfulness strategies

You haven’t “learned to live with COVID” if you don’t understand that wearing a mask in public means not only protecting yourself, but ALSO immunocompromised / disabled / chronically ill people

COVID also disproportionately affects marginalized groups including people of low / no income & BIPOC ppl

Wear purple tomorrow for International Purple Day, a global grassroots effort to raise awareness for epilepsy. Purple Day was founded by a Canadian nine year old with epilepsy named Cassidy Megan. Now in her 20s, Cassidy continues to be a strong voice for epilepsy awareness.

Gender-affirming care is used most often by cisgender people. Cis folks can seek & have gender affirming care without being demonized or scrutinized. Yet cis care is seen as more important & more accessible when it can be life saving for trans folks.

How is everyone doing this Epilepsy Awareness Month?💜

I’m doing a withdrawal from #clobazam and looking forward to less fatigue. Currently experiencing lots of #migraines so I’m taking some time off work. What’s your epilepsy story this month?

Want to show someone with a disability or a chronic health concern that you care? Take them seriously when they say they’re not feeling well. Ask questions if you don’t understand what they’re going through. Keep inviting them to hang out even though they can’t make it sometimes. We appreciate it❤️‍🩹🥄
A plea amid Apple Cider Vinegar: PLEASE remember people with invisible disabilities and chronic illnesses are NOT faking it:

Stuck feeling like all your relationships are going wrong because of your “attachment style?” What if you weren’t so attached to attachment theory? What or who is making you believe that it is true for you and that you can’t change?
"The pathology is not in the child who cannot attach; it is in the world that makes such attachment dangerous. The disorder is not in the community that resists assimilation; it is in the empire that demands it."

Happy Valentine's Day, especially to anyone who might identify with one of the letters in LGBTQ, particularly the day after someone Trumpy stripped the letter T and then the letter Q from the National Park Service website for Stonewall in New York City.

In these difficult times, remember to pause. Breathe. In and out. Mindfully take time for some self-care when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Give yourself a squeeze or snuggle something or someone you care about it.
