I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

Migrants commit fewer crimes than citizens.
Read it again, slowly.
Why are we (the US) purging our country of migrants?
Heck, most of us are migrant descendants.
It's a purge, y'all. It's ethnic cleansing. It's evil. It's stupid.

Add the NHC and FEMA to the list of government agencies Trump is trying to kill off.

Hey, Florida…glad you voted for him?

Not only are the insurance companies saying bye-bye, but now Trump has decided you can wrestle with your hurricanes by yourself.

Oh, by-the-way, he’s shutting down the National Hurricane Center so you won’t know they’re coming.

#AnthonyFauci dared to commit the one mortal sin for which there can never be any forgiveness: he stood in the face of their bloviating, belligerent spray-tanned savior—and spoke truth that could actually save lives.

That's why they despise him.

Trump's orders are relying on much more on unitary executive theory than before.
Career Senior Executive Service employees who received outstanding performance evaluations are being fired, with the only justification being "Title II of the Constitution."

If you’re looking for one thing you can do that’s cheap, easy, signals your disapproval of fascism and immediately helps vulnerable people: Wear a mask.
A lot of great people no longer can attend conventions or conferences or parties or concerts or all sorts of gatherings. Or they have to take risks to do so.

If only good indoor air quality was a priority. If only we could count on people to test, get vaccinated, wear masks as needed. 🧵

Two more ways to keep up with what they are doing to our country.
ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION? #AmericanOligarchy #DismantingDemocracy
Bloomberg and (to my surprise) Axios launched Project 2025 trackers this week, connecting Trump's moves to the wildly unpopular manifesto. This is a really good opportunity for Democrats to run riot over this already plowed and seeded terrain and keep their grip on the Project 2025 narrative.

RFK Jr is crazy pants and should not be in charge of anything.
A frustrating thing for me right now is the media narrative that RFK Jr is just an “anti-vaxxer” when he has said so many crazy things about other stuff over the years. We compiled 10 nutty clips on various topics, which still barely scratches the surface. open.substack.com/pub/meidasto...

Hey, remember the Elian Gonzalez saga?

Remember how much righteous anger there was in Republican circles over this image of one (1) armed federal agent taking custody of (1) undocumented minor in order to reunite him with his father?

These are the images Republicans will soon be celebrating.
