Super puzzled by this. What did they DO here? The tone is not looking great, but that tag at the end about suitable for ages 11 and up...Do they think they nailed a faithful retelling hidden inside humor? Is a funny Animal Farm even *possible*? Or advisable?
First trailer for Andy Serkis’ ‘ANIMAL FARM’ has dropped.

In theaters May 1.

I have been saying since Day 1 that his deathbed will look exactly like the Skeksis emperor's deathbed scene in The Dark Crystal.
Trump summoning his cabinet to kiss his ass and then falling asleep on them while they're droning on is so very on-brand. It's like the death of the Skeksis Emperor scene from The Dark Crystal meets Jabba's palace from Return of the Jedi.

If the American South was a building
You can change a buildings purpose. Rip out all the machines that used to live there. You can call an old factory a visitor centre, a museum, a heritage site – don't change what it was. Remove and remake all you want, you can't erase its ghosts. It stays haunted. – John Peck #VOH #Ghosts

I am once again astounded that, of all my undergrad classes, it's John Z's literary criticism class that I think about and use the most. And I mean almost constantly! I would have never guessed this at the time. 🤯

I feel like we have the opportunity to turn David Lynch's quote into this moment's "Keep Calm and Carry On" and it's a far better rallying cry too.

It has been 0 days since I cut myself on an archival container.

This time, the metal edge of a ledger box got me *under* the left pinkie nail. 🫠

Why is it that the first tissue you pull out of the box is almost always two tissues stuck together? How has humanity walked on the moon, but we almost universally fail to start a box of tissues properly?

My comfort in folklore often comes from the fact it ratifies the truths that greed is an evil, tyranny is to be opposed and manners matter. If it legitimises a fear of trespassing against the common good by the rich, it is performing one of its fundamental roles. – #CLNolan #FolkloreThursday

I wonder how Clark Construction Group sleeps at night? Maybe the ghost of Dolly Madison (said to protect the Rose Garden) will follow them home.

Give 'em hell, Dolly.

There is an old prayer much favoured in Hookland which I offer up today for my friends in America: Protect us from the tyranny of troubled spirits and make them as smoke upon the wind. #NoKings

Look at this ephemera! Look at it! 😍☠️💖
Funeral Invitation, 1688.

Funeral invitations first appeared in the 17th century, and acted as an admission ticket to both the church and the funeral feast. Pallbearers were often assigned a number on the ticket to signify their position in carrying the coffin.
