Yes! I am so glad you have found it. Having recently read the book and with how closely they’re sticking to it in terms of the smuttiness, it’s only going to keep getting better.

It is honestly a good movie and if a PTA movie is going to eventually win Best Picture, I’m not mad at this being the one. But they could have given it to Lurker or East of Wall or Sorry Baby or If I Had Legs. Stuff that isn’t going to be even nominated at other ceremonies.

and listen, yes: we overreact to it. but we overreact to it because we spend years having people condescend to us as if we are vapid or lack intellectual rigor, and then they roll in talking out of their asses about something they CLEARLY do not understand, and all that frustration boils over.
