I am by no means a vim power user, but I've gotten so accustomed to using the basic movement keybindings in 90% of everything I write that whenever I have to use something that doesn't support them it feels like my hands aren't working correctly.

PHP catches a lot of shade but it bugs me on a daily basis is that it
a) uses "arrays" for everything
b) tools for working with arrays are kind of shitty
JS has it right with `arr.filter().map()`. In PHP you have to do `array_map( func, array_filter( arr, func ) )`, which is ugly and painful.

Absolutely agree, but this reminded me that my partner and I LOVED the audiobook for Ancillary Justice and so got the audiobook for the Ancillary Sword and were immediately horrified that the narrator had changed and all the pronunciations had too. Book was still great, it was just jarring.

A while ago I did a class visit & one student said they wanted to be a writer and read a lot and then went "well it's not really reading, audiobooks don't count so I guess I'm not really..."
And I had to tell them to shut up cause audiobooks totally count.

Finally watching The Expanse and it’s pretty good. I like the lady they got for Naomi but it chafes my ass that she’s clearly shorter than the guy they got for Holden. She’s a Belter, she should be tall as hell!
