The Estonian island of Vaindloo in the Finnish Gulf is tiny: only 900 by 175 meters. But its territorial waters extend by 12 miles (ca. 19 km) in all directions. What reportedly happened is that three Russian MiG-31s circled for 12 minutes inside this 'bubble', before being chased away.
