“essentially closing research operations in my group” = no new experiments save 1 recently funded grant. Spending freezes limit our ability to order supplies and reagents. We need to focus remaining funding on maintaining personnel + analyzing existing samples w whatever’s left in the cabinet
This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

I don't believe that the Republicans in congress are unable to see the catastrophic implications of their inaction when it comes to stopping Trump-Musk from walking all over them (and us). The Rep congress is gutless. Any of the fired fed employees is braver. I am braver. Most of us are.

Elon Musk has taken by force full control of the computers of the U.S. Treasury. He now personally controls the disbursement of all federal funds and has full possession of all related information, including personal and financial information on every person/entity in the country. We must stop him.
