And any argument that it offsets costs of defense is complete BS because when you settle a suit that's defensible, you face the very real prospect of that same attorney or organization suing you yet again & again, incurring the costs anyway
"The media outlets and tech platforms that settled with Trump chose to give him money because they *wanted* to. They could have fought and won, since Trump’s lawsuits (and his lawyering) are universally terrible."
CNN shows that when media orgs fight Trump, they win
Take this grift and shove it.

I tell ya, navigating this EV stuff has been challenging. A helluva lot to learn. Every solution I came up with was hit with a roadblock from the electrician. Today's thing was finding out I DO have room in my panel, after being told I don't. Stopped the work. Researched. Found a solution. If he

Trump is *very* clearing showing that he believes women are second class citizens and shouldn't have the same rights as men. It's become blatant these past few days with his treatment of female reporters.

(Per Target purchase history)

12/19/23, price of Deep Indian Kitchen Palek Paneer: $4.89 10/12/24: $4.99
11/16/25: $5.79

10 cents more '23-'24. ***79*** cents more '24-'25

Price of F'n Republican voters thinking that Biden is the reason the prices are so high right now=our democracy.

Found a time of day program with Xcel that I'm eligible for, so I switched. Winter rates are pretty low, but it looks like I'd still save $25 or so a month. Takes at least 30 days for Xcel to switch you, so plenty of time to practice laundry/dishes & EV charging after 9pm or first thing in a.m.

The violations are something you'd never have dreamed could happen prior to this year. Staggering. Gotta love the filing for an emergency stay. I hope that the evidence of misconduct was so overwhelming that the request will be quickly denied.
The extent of the prosecutorial and investigative misconduct in the James Comey case is even greater than previously known, a federal magistrate judge revealed in an extraordinary new ruling today.

Keep hearing about people I know retiring & it's so fucking depressing. I want to feel happy for them, but I'm mostly jealous. I wanted to be able to retire someday too but just didn't understand how important it was to sock away as much as possible in a 401K until it was way too late.
November 17, 2025 at 10:21 PM
Also, another fun day for the Dow & the impact on our retirement accounts. Super fun being the first generation (with a few boomers in tow) to have to lose pension funds w/out getting commiserate raises to fund 401Ks. Wheee!

I've been trying to get my mind around the hemp restrictions in the "funding" bill. If it completely prohibits the sale of hemp-based THC & CBD products the financial implications are staggering. Another blow to working Americans. I suppose the GOP is looking for $$$ lobbying. It's always $$
November 17, 2025 at 9:46 PM
So when the Epstein files are released & they've been sanitized to remove Trump & all GOP, I assume that Dem members of committees who've seen copies can state that the files have been modified or are incomplete w/out breaching security? Will they, though?

Even with no debt, it's not possible to retire in the US as a homeowner on social security alone. Per Google:
median SS payment: $2008
Avg utility bill: $611
home insurance (so low!): $205
car insurance: $179
cell phone: $141
internet: $60
Food: $370
$1566 total BEFORE medical costs

Omg! Was looking up the property taxes for my house in MPLS (prior to this one) & saw that the value dropped on the 2026 tax estimate. Checked Zillow & the value has dropped $30K! I feel so, so lucky to have sold. Did NOT expect that at all

Finally got CarPlay to work in the Bolt w/the iPhone 13 Mini. Just will *not* work with the 15. Hate that damn iPhone 15 POC. Love my #EV so far, though! Carplay is like having built in nav!!

I suppose if we don't prevail next year, we women will be required to wear dresses & heels again, with hem lengths measured. JFC

Strictest abortion prohibitions and punishments in the nation being considered by South Carolina lawmakers.

They want to send women who get abortions to prison for 30 years. Outlawing IUDs. Sharply restrict in-vitro fertilization.
South Carolina looks at most restrictive abortion bill in the US as opponents keep pushing limits
A group of South Carolina senators plans to consider a proposal that could introduce the strictest abortion prohibitions and punishments in the nation.

Took me a second 😆
I missed #Caturday so here’s some belated Sistine Chapel action for you.

Gorgeous day for a walk. Love that the church closest to my house is doing a free food little library that’s a mini replica of the church. Also love the new rec center that’s almost completed.

Pics as soon as I at & rest a bit. Did get 8 miles in today.
This house makes me super sad. It’s historic & was beautifully maintained. Sold to a MAGA this summer. They mowed ONCE & are just letting everything go, near as I can tell

I absolutely believe this, too. I desperately want every Republican voted out but strongly believe that they'll just keep voting in Republicans. Against their own interests, of course. Too many excusing the atrocities happening. Republican voters are disgusting at this point
She’s lying, of course, but it is noteworthy that the feels like she has to lie and say these things. She’s a weathervane and this is a sign of the way the wind is blowing.
BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.

Forgot to post how the protest went yesterday! It may be one of our last (cold is coming) & they transition to postcards. There's a women's group postcard writing Monday that I'll be heading to, too. Protest was ok-nice weather so ok turnout. Too many fingers & thumbs down. I was very disappointed 😞

Ahahahahahaha. Hell fucking no, the prices won't go down. They NEVER go down once companies raise prices. If they do drop, it's absolutely not a true reflection of the company's actual costs. Nothing will help short of regulations, & that didn't even happen under Dem leadership
Bessent: "Not only will the tariffs come off some of the things you just listed -- coffee, cocoa, bananas -- that's a result of the trade deals going through, and then we will see this go down."

I'm not sure exactly when it started happening, but Socks puffs up her tail when she plays chase with Newton. It's freaking adorable and they've only recently figured out they can chase each other. I'm so glad I decided to adopt goofball Newton (even though I still think three cats is a lot)

The replies. I don’t eat out really at all. Feeling better about the cost of my frozen single serve meals ( which have also gone way up, of course)
Two cheeseburgers, some fries, two milkshakes for me and my kid: $51 before tip. This … doesn’t feel sustainable.
