i cannot tell you how much of an impact ff4's story of cecil's redemption impacted my life as a kid. the stories we hear as children resonate for our entire lives thereafter.

Just finished the eighth Inspector Gamache mystery. This one was claustrophobic, set in a remote monastery, but Penny is so good at making me care about the characters, especially with series-long arcs about the main characters' personal dramas. This one was particularly heartbreaking!

Apart from Bunny vs Monkey, these are my top loaned series. They're all comics/graphic novels. Children can't get enough of them. They look completely different to the books/texts they are given for reading comprehension. They make them laugh/cry, they're fun. Quite frankly we need many, many more!
