The natural world: "Here's a million different variations of exactly the same species."

OMITB has jumped the shark so far as to be completely intolerable apart from the always excellent soundtrack. Fallen so far, the new series is a total waste of time 😬😶

So profoundly grateful for vaccines and fascinated by the science behind them, so it's probably fitting that I accidentally put it twice 😅
Incredible day at Festival of the Girl with my daughter trying robotics, making vaccines, parkour, deadlifting, skateboarding, football, making vaccines, jiu-jitsu, VR and so much more ✨️💪🏽🙏🏽

Highly recommended for a fun day challenging gender stereotypes and empowering young girls.

Bought Blind Date with a Book a few months ago from Kuala Lumpur. Randomly decided today was the day to find out what I bought.

Turns out it was Book of Longing by Leonard Cohen. It seems they got my taste spot-on as already own The Flame.

We must learn to have peaceful, grown-up conversations with people who have a different experience from us and who we may not agree with, leaving our inherited biases behind. Compassion is the only route to peace.
Israel and Palestine Conversation Quicksand
The quest to be right in conversations is like quicksand. We lose sight of the real purpose of dialogue: to build understanding, not win an argument.

Just to add another insane thought to this thread this morning - when you're an insightful, thoughtful person, there is also absolute joy in sharing the analysis of pure loathing - that in itself is a super fun experience 😀 🫠
I have just been to the most toe-curlingly mediocre and electrifyingly trite exhibition I have seen in decades.

It was at a London gallery. The artist was there. He held forth in terms that if I repeated them, you would think I was quoting David Brent.

The reviews have been glowing.

VERY weird.

Currently half-way through The Two Towers, and I am very much enjoying elving it up Lothlórien style at my last Comic-Con in Brighton

"Scientists are mulling an intriguing possibility: if aliens exist, their technology may be only marginally better than ours."

I don't accept the radical mundanity theory because, let's be honest, it wouldn't take much to outpace Earth at the moment in the face for superior intelligence.

Pro-tip for if you're visiting the museums in South Kensington - it's £19 for salmon and salad at the V&A museum cafe. Walk 10 minutes to Imperial College campus cafe, and get the same thing for £8.50.

Only in London could you go to the @freudmuseumlondon.bsky.social in the morning, followed by a snack of smoked salmon bagels at @jw3london.bsky.social then head to Camden Arts Centre for an exhibition of Richard Wright paintings, and finish with Vietnamese Pho for lunch.

Yes because what America needs is to be more ignorant about stories from unfamiliar lands... 🙄
