I'm a tv writer who spends my days with other Hollywood writers and I want to make this very damn clear: No, no one is out of ideas. It's about whether the powers that be will pay for them or not (and in TV right now, the answer is usually "not").
It's about the money, and because they're out of ideas and have been for quite a while now. I once tried to make it through an episode of "Friends" when they were still on the air, and just couldn't. Lines inflected as if they were jokes but which WEREN'T, neurotic chacters who annoyed me... huh.
