The Terminator reboot is going to be great when skynet's a chatbot using slurs while also the decision-maker on nuclear launches. Bringing upon nuclear Holocaust simply through ineptitude and narcissism rather than sentient malice.
"I’ll go down this thread with GPT or Grok and I’ll start to get to the edge of what’s known in quantum physics and then I’m doing the equivalent of vibe coding, except it’s vibe physics,” said Travis Kalanick, the founder of Uber.

The cost of war is the blood of innocents, whether or not there is a "reason" for it. Ultimately, that terrible cost is worth paying in very select times, but it is completely reprehensible in the current moment and there is no confusion.

The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents 800,000+ federal and D.C. workers (i.e. people directly impacted by a government shutdown), is urging senators to vote no on the House GOP's CR.

In other words, AFGE is saying a government shutdown is less bad than this GOP bill.

Community protection from measles is maintained when 95% or more of the population is fully vaccinated.

Today, only 12 states meet that threshold, with some of the worst states (ex: Idaho, Florida) dropping as low as 79.6%.

Rightfully so, there should be no respite for cowardice and betrayal at any point, let alone one of this criticality. Primary them all.
House Dems' text chains lighting up with apoplexy.

"Complete and utter meltdown," says one member.

Members floating marching onto the Senate floor.

Others urging primaries not just for Schumer, but any Senate Dem who votes for the GOP bill.

"People are furious": House Democrats have "complete meltdown" as Schumer folds on shutdown

Call your Senators, ruin his book tour.
If I’m thinking thru the senate rules right (by no means certain), I think a single D senator can force the voting that’s starts tomorrow to last into the beginning of next week by refusing unanimous consent. That can slow things down and allow the backlash to expand.

Imagine seeing the pushback on Hakeem Jeffries' lack of concerted opposition by the party's voters and then pulling Schumer's maneuver. Absolutely embarrassing abdication of leadership showing he is incapable for the present moment.

Just listened to You Are A Bad Ass episode and wasn't sure if you caught this in the research, given the subjects clear proclivity for borderline sexual assault.

I try to give individuals the benefit of doubt. My experience w/ Post Office for-profit ones so far is deep down it's always anger if society provides a useful thing to others. Once you concede one thing there's no reason their worldview makes sense, so it's unbridled fury against accepting reality.
Worth reading.

NOT EVERYTHING IS A FOR-PROFIT BUSINESS, and the conservative "just common sense to run it like a business" talking points are garbage.
I recently wrote about the troubles Canada Post is facing, particularly the low-wage, non-union labor model being pushed by Amazon, and why the government must expand Canada Post with postal banking and other services to better serve Canadians.

Excited to see what micro-experiment my daughter comes up with today at breakfast. Yesterday we hypothesized the spray when peeling an orange was juice, not water. Figured out we could peel the orange inside a plastic bag to confirm by color, smell, and taste.

I love finding a clickbait article on a publication, then reading the paper and it's introductory sources and finding abysmally designed studies asserting outlandish claims.

The worst part is we're not even at peak terrible publishing on the subject of AI yet.
