The second thing that dates the book is a rare reference to Sherlock Holmes being dead, as of course he was from 1893 to 1903

I read the HG Wells book The Wheels of Chance, an 1895 cycling themed romcom. It's dated in two fun (to me) ways. At one point the protagonist describes seeing someone riding an "ordinary." This is what penny farthings were briefly known as when the safety bike first came in

Example of a child flicking the Vs in the opening credits. I like to look for examples of this to try and prove how far back it goes. This is no help really as the film's from 1971; 70 years after the earliest recorded example

Prediction: you'll be able to buy cushions that are already shaped like this soon and gradually the two sticky up bits will get taller and taller until, like ox bow lakes, the cushions will split in two

This is no fun, Relay. Please tell me warehouse locations, scan times - paint me a picture. The wondrous journey section of tracking is PART OF THE PLEASURE

I saw this car this morning, stuck at the side of the road. I sort of wish I'd gone and said hello and asked about it but if I learned anything from Genevieve (1953), Kenneth More was about to turn the crank handle and lash out at bystanders

Just watching this on Film 4+1 now and he doesn't seem to say parsnips or muffins in their copy. It's all very confusing

I thought I was immune to the charms of Dennis out of Always Sunny, then I saw the episode where he gets a cat, calls him Jack Bauer and carries him everywhere because he loves him

It is entirely my own fault that the headdress in the bottom left pic immediately made me think of Bob Mortimer's Wotsits wig

While looking for pics of Mary Pickford where she looks like Patricia Hodge, I stumbled on some of Douglas Fairbanks with a tan

Tbf I would watch the hell out of a series of comedy films following the misadventures of these two
