Wow!
Yesterday we visited Green Mountain Falls, CO to visit the kinetic sculpture Off the Beaten Path by Patrick Shearn. I wasn’t ready for just how dynamic it was even in the slightest breeze. Reminds me of a murmuration of starlings. Incredible artwork. It’ll only be up through October 19th.

I really hope Bluesky can develop the Bookmark option so we can save posts we like and refer to it when we need it. They have this in FB, IG, and that old space. Can we all rally for the Bookmark button? And we must not forget the EDIT option! This will definitely make this app better!

I think I agree with this, with caveats.
Look, 1.5C without overshoot was always at their very margins of plausibility. There’s a reason why there was almost no literature on how to achieve it until the UN requested an IPCC report on the topic.
But the target was, and is, a signifier:

Climate action is falling terribly short
Time to bury the 1.5C goal?
Absolutely not - why the 1.5 goal must prevail
(even when global warming exceeds 1.5C)

No one is required to tolerate bigotry. Opposing views are fine up to the point they dehumanise others, whether because of national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc. That is not a mere difference of opinion; that is a difference of morals.

Official figures about economic inactivity based on the Labour Force Survey, which now has an unrepresentative 13% response rate.
Curious. The ONS may have overestimated no. of economically inactive:
“response to the Labour Force Survey have collapsed from 39% in 2019 to 13% last year.
“workers may be less likely to respond than the economically inactive”
Other data supports this view.
