There are currently 8 political prisoners in the UK (on remand for alleged actions taken in solidarity with Palestine) on hunger strike.
Most have been on strike for well over a month. Their health situation is critical.

Cruelty is anhedonic. It rarely delivers the euphoria promised because, in the abstract, what feels righteous and joyful inevitably reveals itself to be sordid and small. Then it's "No not like that". "No not enough". "No the real battle, the forever war to make this feel good starts now". Forever.
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

Today is the 4th anniversary of the worst ever tragedy in the Channel.
At least 27 men, women & children drowned in the freezing water, & 4 more have never been found.
Since then, neither we nor the French have done a thing to offer people in this situation with real solutions.

Software utilities, I think, must be treated the same way: regulated (including price) and operated under oversight. Otherwise, they're just a robber-baron monopoly with a stranglehold on the economy.

The takeaway IMO is aggro centrism is an astonishing historic disaster. Not only does it not work - it delivers very little for the public, doesn’t address core problems of the era and disillusions the public with democracy itself - but it actively aids the far right and prepares the way for fascism

Yes, this is wingnuts and cranks all over: you can never appease them by walloping migrants or minorities or by kicking the poor. Every concession you give them, every group of people you sacrifice to please them, is just wasted. They don’t respect you or feel grateful, they reset and demand more.
