This is smart and bold and much-needed.
A potentially game-changing climate story has been hiding in plain sight — until now.

Today marks the launch of #The89Percent Project, a yearlong global journalistic effort to highlight the vast majority of people who care about climate change and want their governments to do something about it.

this is straightforwardly concentration camp stuff.

just in very plain terms: we send people to camps now if we, the government, deem it necessary, without due process. you can file a habeas petition in the united states district court with jurisdiction over el salvador, i guess.

Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folks…

“The opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion.” @petebuttigieg.bsky.social

Our problem: too many value uniformity over inclusion and they’re the ones running the government.

I don't often ask people to write to their MPs. But I think they might listen to you on this, as it's so jaw-droppingly awful, and they're almost certainly unaware of it. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

What’s in the millions of tonnes of sludge spread on to UK farmland? Toxic waste – and ministers don’t care | George Monbiot
Water companies let waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. When it is recklessly used as fertiliser, we are all at risk, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

We are deep into the "taking names" stage.

Guy Dampier works for a think tank funded by a clown car full of hard-Brexit, climate-denying, blackpillers.

He must think this is "his time", able to say the quiet part out loud.

He's on the list.
The object is terror.

Not just for migrants, and their British citizen loved-ones. 2 million people, he says - so dragged from their beds, taken in shackles to Heathrow.

But terror for all of us. The state that does that, js the state that can hurt anyone, anytime.

Next time Starmer and Reeves say there's too much regulation, remember this.
This is what a deregulated economy looks like, and we all pay for it, with our health, our ecosystems and, eventually - when the massive clean-up / land abandonment bill can no longer be avoided - our wallets.
A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

Who is to blame?

And what can we do?

Forget your savvy & your cleverness & your 3D chess. Just skip to the end, where you *fight*.
There is nothing more obviously inevitable to me than everyone eventually concluding that, no, you can't work with the Trump admin., you can't "find areas of compromise," you can't treat this as normal politics, the only option is total, unremitting opposition. Everyone will get there eventually.

1. Trump and his Death Eaters cannot tolerate any rival power. Europe, when united, is a major trading and diplomatic bloc. They see Russia (much less of a threat to US hegemony) as an excellent instrument for breaking up Europe, by threat or by force.🧵
