It’s interesting to hear this because an army friend who I would describe as being at the high end of the army (infantry, paratrooper, ranger tab) stated if you put an American BCT in place of a UAF mechanized brigade under current conditions in Ukraine, you’d get similar results and casualties
Was chatting with a friend this morning who’s active duty Army and he was complaining about how bad the average soldier is at shooting and fighting.
Trump on school shootings: "We have great teachers that love our children, and if you took a small percentage of those teachers that were in the military and you let them carry, that's something that a lot of people like. I sort of liked it."

>have 80 aircraft in one base
>easy to target
>distribute 80 aircraft across 30 bases

1) takes longer to find
2) now you must strike 30 different targets
3) deception and concealment make it unsure that what you might be striking is the aircraft you want (could be empty HAS/shelters)

Drone and AI mania is all the buzz these days in Defense VC land and Washington. However, I think many are missing what actually constitutes a "military revolution," why drones have emerged the way they have, and the inherent limits they offer as a conventional replacements. My Latest⬇️

This Palmer article/speech pissed me off so much that I decided to scrap my original article. It’s entirely clear to me that defense VC scammers have literally no idea how war works or why why military technology evolves the way it does secretaryrofdefenserock.substack.com/subscribe?si...

Ignoring the numbers for a sec, theres a high chance that these systems also fired on the same targets two or three times. Integration of US BMD systems has been a long term problem and so far only THAAD and PATRIOT have progressed to a level of "true integration". US-Israel integration also sucks.

Our closest look at the AIM-260 #JATM guidance section yet. Quite a contrast to the AMRAAM with a much pointier radome and the almost non existent fins. Also distinct are the two sets of apertures covering the diameter of the section (presumably a multi-band targeting device). 📸 Colin Clark CCFOC1

I just don't think many people grasp how vast US procurement spending is. In 2023, US procurement alone was equivalent to 50% of non-US NATO defense spending.

“About 900 missiles and drones have been shot down by NASAMS, with a hit rate of 94%. That is a very, very high number,” says Colonel Per Steinar Trøite, head of the Air Force’s support to Ukraine

One of the big issues facing Europe as it adjusts its security environment to exclude counting on the US, is the problem of fires. But Europe isn't starting from 0, European nations in total have about 3.3k air launched cruise missiles in inventory (even account for donations to Ukraine)
