There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

After Rob Bresnahan campaigned on banning congressional stock trading, he decided to corruptly and hypocritically sell out his constituents instead of doing what he promised to the voters in #PA08.
Rep. Rob Bresnahan sold stock in several Medicaid providers before voting for cuts
The Pennsylvania Republican is one of several members who have come under scrutiny for stock trading as Congress eyes a potential ban.

Since the disastrous Citizens United ruling in 2010, billionaires have increasingly had more political influence.

And their corrupting influence comes at a cost to working Americans through higher prices, weaker protections, and a government that answers to the wealthy.

The basic truths that escape “both sides.”
Since January 2023, the New York Times has cited Rep. Ralph Norman, R-SC, in 78 stories. None mentioned that Norman secretly urged the Trump White House in 2021 to declare martial law – in effect, a military-backed coup. Norman wasn’t charged, but the NYT gave him a “pardon” anyway.

Charlie Kirk was a tool.

I mean that literally. He was useful to the American right for organizing and propaganda, then they thought they could use his death to silence and persecute people they don't like, which worked a bit but fizzled, and then he was no longer of use to them so they moved on.
one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.
