Climate change indicators should be the default filter on money and decisions - on individual, organizational, and national levels. Every spend or authorization allowing to push away from near-zero human-induced CO2(e) emissions should be considered a crime against humanity.

New national climate plans have barely moved the needle on limiting global warming. Yet there is hope.
According to UNEP's latest #EmissionsGap Report, accelerated adoption of renewable energy and falling costs mean we have the tools to cut emissions now: www.unep.org/news-and-sto...

A DHS warrant seeking ChatGPT user prompts “means it’s more important than ever for OpenAI and other AI companies to think about how to limit the amount of data they collect on their users,” EFF’s @jenlynch.bsky.social told @Forbes.com.

Seeing this, my hope for the "There's an API for that" era is reborn.
Seeing LLMs using User Interfaces is completely ridiculous🤣

Since I'm writing more and more specs, rather than code, I have the feeling CC cherry-picks some of the specs to work on, and "tries to ignore" the rest, until I review code and point out it specifically.😄 Such a human trait

I'm beginning to suspect that a key skill in working effectively with coding agents is developing an intuition for when you don't need to closely review every line of code they produce. This feels deeply uncomfortable!

Sorry, but disagree with @hausfath.bsky.social here. You open Pandora's box, you ain't closing it again. We've already seen with Paris that well intentioned international agreements do not translate into physical reality and SRM governance is a much harder problem. Zero is the only safe level. /1
I have a new @nytimes.com guest essay w/ @davidkeith.bsky.social about sunlight reflection. We note its not a solution for climate change and at best a band aid to treat systems, and suggest if its ever done it should only be to replace the cooling from air pollution today:
Opinion | A Responsible Way to Cool the Planet
A small, carefully scaled geoengineering program could compensate for the loss of cooling as we eliminate sulfur pollution.

Climate skeptics have long been obsessed with corrections to temperature records for changes in measurement techniques and instruments over time.
But it turns out that if we just used the raw data we'd see more warming. My latest at The Climate Brink: www.theclimatebrink....
