Over on the other site, people are getting mad at something that never happened. No expert quoted in that Post article said that parents should obtain consent before changing a diaper.

The current GOP scandal is "the president probably molested some children" but there are still people attacking Democrats for... not riding their bikes more? And even this thing was faked at the time.

Hard disagree. People are perfectly capable of living good lives and still voting for fascism. In fact, bring privileged IMO is directly correlated with support for fascism because wealth-induced boredom causes people to imagine fanciful ways of losing all their stuff.
Authoritarianism can only succeed when democracy fails to deliver for working people.
Authoritarian parties can only succeed when the pro-democracy parties fail to fight for working people.
We need a new democracy and a new party system which can represent working people.

honestly i think why we are seeing so much discourse about a mayor's race is because it's held on an odd-numbered year. if nyc moved their elections to even years, not sure if most people would even be able to name the mayor of that town.

A lot of people are getting mad at the expression "trained performer," but I don't think they know that Mamdani had a career as a musician in the 2010s, something that he is likely drawing on since performance is a big part of politics.
Zohran Mamdani is a trained performer who has an extremely disciplined and laser-focused ability to recite on-message talking points in response to any question, and yet voters overwhelming praise him as being especially "authentic" compared to other politicians. There's a lesson here!

My going theory is that Trump is acting out of anger towards America for rejecting him in 2020. He never got over it and now he wants to punish the country by crashing its economy and starting meaningless wars for territory and taking away our rights.

Trump fired key oversight employees as one of his first moves in office and has been working to make the remaining federal workforce loyal to him.
That is, if the plane crash was his fault due to firing federal employees, we'll probably never see the evidence.
