I've been collecting pandemic era signs that nobody can be bothered to take down or remove. There's something grimly fascinating about this. Putting them up was urgent and important; removing them is nobody's job. How long will some of these hang around?

1/ Holywell, Bakewell, commissioned by Bakewell Urban District Council in 1952 - a beautiful estate built in local stone in open plan form. Contrary to appearances, these are cottage flats, each with their own front and backdoor. Bungalows for elderly residents lie just opposite.

Pretty obvious to all and sundry that the UK isn't a real democracy when we can see our elite and media class choosing our next dead behind the eyes prime minister in real time, despite the people hating him almost as much as the last one and their politics being identical.

My NHS employer has just confirmed redundancies are coming. For the second time in my 16 year NHS career tens of thousands of NHS staff, many with decades of experience will be thrown on the scrap heap. Many worked on the frontline (including me) in the pandemic. This is Streeting's reward for us.

It’s still absolutely wild that the police raided her house like she was Walter White in a huge media event, then came out two weeks later and did a press conference publicly blaming Crown Office for non-specifically ruining their investigation, not granting them a search warrant at the first ask.

A fully fascist state and our government is revelling in debasing themselves kowtowing instead of standing up to them.
Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.
