It does feel like we're all going insane. We *know* he's implicated in Epstein's abuse. He's lashing out, in a misogynistic way, when questioned about it. We know. Why isn't every news stations 24hour coverage of the president being a child abuser? It should be wall-to-wall

I went to my first Star Trek convention as a kid in the 1970s and let me assure you that Trek fandom was always this horny, if not hornier

this is how I know folks who complain that furries are degenerates live sheltered little lives

Had this discussion just recently. This trend persists in both past and present, in Western media and anime.

I believe the reason is simply designing for the normie male gaze. They think adding snouts will take away from a woman's femininity and attractiveness. So we get human face + triangle nose
the worst trend in female character design for anthropomorphic characters in media has to be the absolute refusal to give women snouts.

gacha games and fortnite are especially egregious with this. come on. just a bit of a snout. it's not hard, people. give the wolf girl a snout. and DON'T squish it

This petition has less than half the signatures of the paypro one, and while I'm really happy we've done so well with that and should keep spreading it every day and get more signatures, bill C-2 is a disastrous piece of legislation and is arguably more important
Hey Canadians, I know we've been sharing that financial censorship petition on the commons website but this one is important too.

It's about C2, that dogshit surveillance and immigration bill

also let’s remember that Economics is a developing study in which like any academic field the experts speak authoritatively to cover up stuff they don’t know and can’t explain

game theory per se is only 80 years old. the Nobel Prize for Economics was first awarded in 1968. this is new stuff

In college one of the problems I had with my Economics courses was that they constantly posited consumers as informed rational actors, which was absolutely not what I was being taught in my Advertising courses
A nice compact definition of ideology and also of David Brooks is writing a whole column claiming that you're a conservative because you reject the dominance of reductionist "social sciences," in which economics somehow does not count as a social science
Brooks opens his attack on how the social sciences peddle a narrow and unsatisfying quantitative materialism with five paragraphs lecturing the reader about how economists have proven through data analysis that pure cash welfare does not improve certain numerical measurements of human well-being

Shout out also to the folks in DC who've been hectoring them like puppies. & The millions who joined over 1000 organized protests across the country on Labor Day, even if the media doesn't cover it. It's a long cold civil war but they are not going to enjoy invading Chicago.

So, Chicago, thwart. Thwart like lives depend on it because they do.

This was long and nobody'll read the whole thing, but man it felt good to write because, for the time being, LA fucking won.

And yeah, they'll be back. It's going to get a lot worse. It's going to suck ass for a long time in America, but they aren't invulnerable, they're just empowered bullies and like all bullies, they can't handled working harder than they're supposed to and they can't stand being thwarted. 10/

So, Chicago, it's your turn now and man, I am so so sorry. Nobody should have to go through this. This is awful. This is fascism. Organize. Step up. Don't think other people will do it -- the might, maybe even they will, but they need you, too. Be like LA -- be sand in their gears. 9/

We didn't stop them, but we slowed them down. They got hundreds of us, but we kept them from getting hundreds more, and it wasn't violence or graffiti or insults that did the job, it was regular people getting involved. It was my neighbor the speech therapist, it was my friend the life-coach. 8/

LA kept a small, peaceful, totally fucking irritating presence at the Federal buildings and LA showed up at the hotels where ICE was staying and made sure they didn't get any sleep. LA Unions got involved. LA limousine liberals got out of their fucking limousines and stood watch on corners. 7/

LA got on Signal and ICE-watch. LA's biggest non-profit advocacy groups like the LA Tenants Union widened their missions to incorporate saving the whole fucking city. LA showed up. LA filmed. LA *knew its rights* and handed out red-cards at every opportunity. 6/

Why? Well, for starters, 300 ICE agents have been moved to Chicago, leaving only about 300 in LA County which is about what we had before Trump took office. Why are they leaving? Because LA made their jobs TOO FUCKING HARD. LA Organized. LA sat on corners outside Home Depots with radios. 5/

This is one of the most important lessons a trans person can learn, IMO

We all have dysphoria triggers, we all have things that set us off, but someone just posting about their life or selfies or what have you triggering your dysphoria is a YOU issue, not a THEM issue. You gotta learn to deal.
not going to blow up a small account but a tgirl just called me talking about dilation gross bc it triggered her dysphoria and i don’t mean to be a bitch but that’s not my job to manage. i think every trans woman has felt dysphoric over their perceptions of others’ transitions at some point but
